Bits, Bytes, & Bots programs ensure that students of every age can explore their creativity during the summer.
Our skilled instructors are passionate about STEM and patient with students. They are dedicated to helping each camper learn, create, and achieve.
We can set up a program with at least 10 students and at most 18 students.
Students will be introduced to the magic of Dash robotics. They will learn the basics of making Dash the robot go forward, go backward, go left, go right, change colors and even dance! Students will get their license through driving school on their first day. For the rest of the week, they will be given new problems to solve each day. At the end of the week, students will master Dash driving and can even play soccer and dodgeball with the robots!
Students will be working to get their robotics certificates. They will be introduced to the world of computer and robot engineering. Using their math and problem-solving skills, students will be able to guide Dash the robot through advanced puzzles. By the end of the week, students will be able to engineer their very own self-driving robot!
Students will build robots using Lego ev3. On the first day, they will build and code a base robot. Students will be given real-life problems to solve with their robot; throughout the week they will add sensors to improve the robot. Eventually, they will work together in teams to build a sorter and robotic arm.
Students will be introduced to the world of video game design through ScratchJr. Throughout the week, they will move through the steps of game development by learning how to code and design classic games such as frogger. By the end of the week, students will have made their own game and earned their very first degree in video game development.
Students will become masters of MIT’s Scratch and create a game they can play at home. They will be introduced to computer science from computer scientists themselves. Students will learn the basics of game development by replicating games such as frogger, geometry dash, and fruit ninja. By the end of the week, students will be fluent in Scratch, earn a degree in computer science, and have their very own video game.
Students will make their very own Lego movie! They will learn about film production and what goes into making a movie. They will storyboard, build sets, produce, write and direct their very own film. Our bucket of Legos will be used and shared with the entire class, and students are encouraged to bring their own Legos if they would like. At the end of the week, each student will premiere their unique film and earn their own Academy Award.
Students will learn the art of stop-motion animation as seen in movies such as The Lego Movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Coraline. They will learn about movie production and will produce their movie using stop-motion animation. They may use Legos we provide to make their movie; they may also bring in their own toys and figures from home. At the end of the week, students will premiere their movie and earn their very own Academy Award.
Students will be taken through a trip of the history of several iconic inventions. They will learn the thought process of each inventor, and each day they will engineer their very own version of the invention. They will build towers and bridges out of candy, reinvent the recipe for s’mores, and much more! By the end of the week, they will have mastered the skill of being a great inventor and entrepreneur.
Students will explore the world of marketing, product development, and entrepreneurship. Using the Youtuber Mark Rober’s method, they will identify a problem and try to solve it by creating an invention of their own. We will then guide students to brainstorm their idea, build a prototype, and finally, pitch their product in a Shark Tank-style setting. Your student could become the next great inventor!
What happens in Drone Club stays in Drone Club… Students will learn to build and fly drones. Each day they will go through an obstacle course. They will fly their drones through hoops, under bridges, and learn to land successfully on different targets. At the end of the week, they will engineer their own drone to go through the master obstacle course. By the end of the week, they will become masters in piloting and building drones.
