Curriculum

Dash is a robot that will respond to voice commands, navigate objects, dance, and sing. Dash is easily programmed with a tablet that

we provide. Working in teams of 2, students will give Dash new behaviors and meet challenges by using drag-and-drop coding. This

robot is fun and gives students the foundations needed to become a great programmer.

Appropriate for Grades 1 thru 5.

Students learn to build and program the Lego Mindstorms NXT Robots. Experienced Lego builders beware... many of our robot

designs are quite complex. They will use their new skills to meet challenges such as using light and ultrasonic sensors to navigate

through terrain or battle an opponent at Robot Sumo.

Appropriate for Grades 4 thru 8.

Don’t just play games, learn how to create them. Students will use Scratch and Gamemaker creation software to design and

program their own video games. They will learn about sprites, objects, events and actions. Students will be able to access their

games from home to expand in complexity and challenge friends.

Appropriate for Grades 4 thru 8.

Working together or individually, students will be able to easily create awesome stop motion animated movies with titles, credits,

and sound effects. All supplies including Lego’s and tablets are provided, but students are welcome to bring to class their own Lego

pieces or other action figures. At the end of camp, the movies will be sent out to each students parent for in-home viewing.

If you want to explore the world of innovations, marketing and product development, this course has it all. The Young Inventors camp will follow strategies and processes described in YouTube sensation Mark Rober's videos. If your child is curious about or you hope they will develop an interest in science, this is the class for you. We show fun and crazy experiments and allow students to explore their own ideas for how to improve the world around them using science.
